Overview
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience is committed to using cutting-edge research and discovery driven medicine to provide the best care possible for our patients.
By creating an environment of education and innovation in the field of mental health, we are able to provide a unique type of care for our patients that combines our academic knowledge with a practical application of skills and techniques used to treat mental illness.
Our specialized services are available to children, adolescents and adults who are experiencing difficulties due to stress, emotional or behavioral problems, loss or other life events. We strive to advance the diagnosis and treatment of patients with mental illness.
Our clinicians treat patients with a variety of symptoms, diseases and disorders, including mood disorders (depression and bipolar disorder), anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, ADD/ADHD, cognitive disorders, substance abuse/addiction, and various other mental health issues. We also treat patients in an acute inpatient setting at UC Health University Hospital.
To better diagnose and treat mental illness, diagnostic psychological testing is provided to our patients. With academics and research to drive our discoveries, we believe uncovering the underlying issues of mental illness are an important part of treatment. We can then better manage our patient’s care and effectively treat their disease.
