Experts Join to Launch Cincinnati Mood Disorders Consortium

Experts in mood disorders from the UC Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience, UC College of Medicine, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and the Lindner Center of HOPE have joined to launch the Cincinnati Mood Disorders Consortium (CMDC).

Help Available for Borderline Personality

James Curell, MD, says borderline personality disorder got its name because patients tend to occupy an area between psychosis — full-blown mental illness, such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder — and milder conditions of neurosis, such as inhibitions or phobias. But, he says, help is available right here at UC.

 Borderline personality disorder can be diagnosed through a psychological evaluation and treated with drugs or therapy. [more]
